The Midnight Channel: Excerpt I

This is just a little anecdote for you guys to see what's in store. This isn't even the best, either. Rather, it was just an idea of how I wanted a certain scene to happen as I was thinking of it.

You'll see the four main characters though: Keiji (protagonist), Miyuki (Ally), Kyosuke (Ally), and Sakura (Ally/Antagonist) in this scene. I'll explain a little bit later on how they got to this, and what happens, but for now, I'll just say this: Sakura was kidnapped and she disappeared without a trace. The three teenagers left in search of her while the midnight channel was still playing, leading them into a maze of cherry blossoms. After getting past the maze, the three find themselves, strangely, in Sakura's home, where it seems to have been changed to a dance club on the inside. From there, well, you'll just have to read ;)

FYI: It's 8 pages long, so it's kind of long for an "excerpt", but still, I hope it'll keep you interested all the same!

Midnight Channel Synopsis

I figured before people begin to be a fan about a story they never have heard about before, they should at least have a general idea of what this story is about. It's as such that I bring you the synopsis.

Synopsis:

A sixteen year old Keiji Sanada has just transferred from a no-name town in a small prefecture of Japan to the large city of Osaka in order to live with his uncle, Hideo Yamada and his daughter, Ayumi. He then begins his time at Temujin High School as a second-year student. After befriending three fellow students in his class, he learns about a mysterious channel that is said to only play at Midnight when the moon is full. During this time, the person who's face is shown during the channel is said to disappear from the face of the earth. As the four friends test the rumor, disappearances of famous and normal people alike began to happen around them. Is it a coincidence? Or is this Midnight Channel really the cause to all of the cases? It is up to Keiji and his friends to find out before the entire city of Osaka is erased from the world. However, their investigation will not only lead to whether or not the Midnight Channel causes the disappearances, but dives much deeper into the causes of the disappearances, leading to a horrifying truth to be revealed to the four investigators...

What is the Midnight Channel, and what does it have to do with all of these cases? There's only one way to find out...

The Midnight Channel has begun!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the The Midnight Channel Blog, a blog website dedicated to a novel by the name of The Midnight Channel by Blaine Morren.

On this blog, I'll be giving you updates on the novel, such as the progression on the plot, how much it is typed, etc. Hopefully, if I get more members/fans of this blog, I could be more than motivated, but determined, to complete this large project.

Allow me to say a few things about myself. I was born June 1st, 1991. Yes, I'm only eighteen. I have, admittedly, no professional experience in the art of writing, though I have been refining my style and abilities since I was twelve. I've always had a passion for writing, and more specifically, storytelling at a young age. I tend to make dozens of stories in my head, and out of those dozens, I will pick a few to continue and build on. The Midnight Channel, is one of the many stories that I had which I decided to build on. What I lack in experience, however, I feel I can make up with my desire to give the world a story to enjoy and my creative ideas. I hope that if you subscribed to this blog, you will continue to support me throughout this project.

Thanks,

Blaine
